Every December, the DMV gets lit. We run private holiday light tour buses from Thanksgiving through New Year's — ZooLights at the National Zoo, the Mormon Temple's traditional display, the Brookville Road neighborhood, the US Botanic Garden's holiday show, Sandy Spring's drive-through, and the downtown DC tree at Ellipse. One bus, eight stops, warm cabin, hot chocolate optional.

The DMV has more world-class holiday light displays than most cities its size. ZooLights at the National Zoo runs Thursday through Sunday all December — the bus drops your group at the entrance, you walk through, the bus picks you up. The Washington DC Temple in Kensington has Maryland's largest free public light display. Brookville Road in Chevy Chase is the DMV's most famous neighborhood-lights street. The US Botanic Garden's Season's Greenings exhibit features train displays through national landmarks made of plants.
Our standard 4-stop family route.
Most families book a 4-hour evening route — pickup at 5pm, return by 9pm. Stop one: a neighborhood lights tour (Brookville or Sandy Spring). Stop two: ZooLights or the Mormon Temple. Stop three: downtown DC tree at the Ellipse + drive past White House decor. Stop four: hot chocolate or dessert stop. Back home before kids' bedtime.
